What To Expect During Your First Visit

At Shepard Pain and Performance Care, we strive to make your first visit as easy and seamless as possible. During this initial visit you will sit one-on-one with Dr. Shepard for a consultation, receive a thorough and customized examination with one initial A.R.T. treatment.  As an ART provider, Dr. Shepard uses his hands to evaluate the texture, tightness and movement of muscles, fascia, tendons, ligaments and nerves. Abnormal tissues are treated by combining precisely directed tension with very specific patient movements. You will also be given specific exercises to reduce your pain and increase your range of motion.

Active Release Technigue (A.R.T.)

Every ART session is actually a combination of examination and treatment.

Biomechanical Assessment

To determine any altered mechanics such as gait abnormalies, aberrant shoulder motion, poor hip mobility, decreased thoracic spine extension etc… 

Patient Exercises

To reduce discomfort, increase range of motion, and to start the healing process

Chiropractic Adjustments

Dr. Shepard use a combination of manual adjusting, drop adjustments, and manual flextion distraction.
